Spanish fort Council Meeting: August 16th 2010

Four months ago the residents of TimberCreek packed out the Meeting Place in Spanish Fort to review what we knew about the proposed service road (now officially relegated to lower case) and to discuss the strategy we would adopt to prevent it being built.

Monday, August 16th produced a few more empty seats than that particular evening but given the rumors surrounding Spanish Fort’s continued support for ...

Don't Relax

TimberCreek POA Meeting August 10th 2010

Please don’t relax and think this is all over, it isn’t.

The TimberCreek POA lawyer reported to the POA that he had met with Allen Cox’s lawyer and found that the application for a Conservation Easement for the Magnolia 9 had in fact NOT yet been applied for. Sure, they have been in touch with the North American Land Trust and had a look at a checklist of things ...

Zone C-2: Outdoor Amusement. Special Meeting Called.

At the Daphne Planning Commission meeting on July 22nd a vote on the new zoning map passed unanimously.

This means the recommendation for council to adopt it will be on the agenda at the next City Council meeting. During the public participation I pointed out that whilst TimberCreek golf course had now been correctly identified as B-2 the course at Lake Forest was still dark green and there was still a key for this titled "Golf Course". Daphne does not have a "golf course" zone so Cathy Barnette made a motion that the map be ... << MORE >>

Audubon Society Comments on Watershed Plan

Citizens of Baldwin County will be asked to vote on a tax this November to support this Watershed Plan and more plans in the future. The Watershed Plan should be of much interest to Timber Creek residents. The draft plan goes so far as to suggest that the "service road" is still not dead.

Deadline for submitting comments to Thompson Engineering is July 29th.

The following has been sent by Chester McConnell, TimberCreek resident and Vice President & Conservation Chairman of the Mobile Bay Audubon Society...

Request to Public Safety Committee

The following statement has been submitted to the Public Safety Committee with a request that it is discussed at their next meeting on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. at Daphne City Hall Council Chambers…

The Daphne #4 Fire Station is situated at the end of Green Court and the parking lot has exits to both Green Court and Woodrow lane. This allows the fire truck to exit the station via Woodrow Lane to have easy access to 181 and I-10 whilst also allowing it to use Green Court if the incident is in the TimberCreek ...

Outdoor Amusement Zones and Lawsuits

The City of Daphne Planning Commission met last night (Thursday June 24th 2010) and on the agenda was a proposed amendment to the Daphne Land Use and Development Ordinance.
Regular readers may remember that on the current City of Daphne Zoning Map the golf courses at TimberCreek and Lake Forest are colored dark green and the key tells us that this means “Golf Course”.

Unfortunately Daphne does not currently have such a zoning district and therefore approval for Ordinance 2010-18 (Revision to Appendix H of the City of Daphne Land Use and ...

Back To The Truth

I don't have the luxury of a time traveling DeLorean but with the help of the online archives from Daphne City Council and Baldwin County Commission, plus any other documentation that the protaganists care to share with me,  I am attempting to piece together the exact sequence of events that led us to our current state of affairs.

By documenting this in one place I hope people will be able to understand who really are the friends of TimberCreek and for all of us to recognize how easy it would have been to have ... << MORE >>
