RESOLUTION #2005-39
Chairman Bishop desires for the Baldwin County Commission to adopt a Resolution requesting the Alabama Department of Transportation establish a service road on the North side of Interstate 10 from the "Spanish Fort Town Center" to the County Road 13 interchange, at Interstate 10, to State Highway 181 (formerly County Road 27).
The Resolution was prompted pursuant to correspondence from Cypress Equities dated January 11, 2005 Chalrman Bishop seeks for the request to ALDOT be styled to ask for the service road to connect from the "Spanish Fort Town Center" all the way to State Highway 181 (fotmerly County Road 27).
Commissioner Lipscomb asked if it would be appropriate to clarify that the interchange at County Road 13, at Interstate 10 is yet to he constructed?
Tom Granger, County Engineer appeared before the Commission and said he met with Mr. Poiroux last week and if he understood correctly, this is a definite project and it may be bid this year. The Commission can use the terminology "proposed" or "yet to be constructed" when referring to this project.
MOTION BY COMMISSIONER LIPSCOMB, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER GRUENLOH TO ADOPT, AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN THE FOLLOWING, RESOLUTION # 2005-39 WHICH RESPECTFULLY REQUESTS THAT THE ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ESTABLISH A SERVICE ROAD ON THE NORTH SIDE OF INTERSTATE 10 FROM THE "SPANISH FORT TOWN CENTER" TO THE COUNTY ROAD 13 INTERCHANGE AT INTERSTATE 10, YET TO BE CONSTRUCTED, TO STATE HIGHWAY 181 (FORMERLY COUNTY ROAD 27)
Commissioner Gruenloh asked it would be appropriate to also send this resolution to the Governor and copied to the Legislative Delegation?
Chairman Bishop said it will be copied to the Governor and Legislative Delegation.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt, and authorize the Chairman to sign, Resolution # 2005-39 of the Baldwin County Commission which respectfully requests that the Alabama Department of Transportation establish a service road on the North side of Interstate 10 from the "Spanish Fort Town Center" to the County Road 13 interchange, at Interstate 10, to State Highway 181.
BACKGROUND:
