MR. MARKERT: 1-10 Service Road Contract, we brought this to the workshop. Right now -- Maybe you've got a copy of the contract. This is a state-format contract based on the number of manned days for every item of work. They have got $169,000 for the redesign of the interchange. We're changing that. ALDOT is hiring them to redesign their interchange, but they're going to charge us to pay them back through an agreement. I believe they negotiated to one fifty or one thirty. But in order to -- Time is of the essence. So we wanted to go ahead and get them on board. They've done a little bit of work for us. This will pay for the environmental document corridor study, which has to be done to do the interchange for the service road. This dill pay for the survey and the design of the service roads.

COMMISSIONER BISHOP: This is the me-point-million-dollar deal that the State is going to do one million on the interchange, and then there's Eive-point-one million to come up with.

MR. MARKERT: We've got budgeted up to $650,000 for this project. And when we take out the redesign of the interchange, our cost will be around $530, 000.

CHAIRMAN GRUENLOH: Okay. Commissioners, any questions ?

MR. MARKERT: I know this is high. We're looking around to get --

COMMISSIONER GRUBER: This is budgeted?

MR. MARKERT: Yes, sir.

COMMISSIONER BISHOP: Yes, sir.

CHAIRMAN GRUENLOH: Is there a -- really, Cal, since you're going to take out the interchange redesign, which is one sixty-nine, and their total is six ninety-five, why would you not just subtract one sixty-nine from six ninety-five and use five hundred instead of saying not to exceed six hundred fifty?

MR. MARKERT: We will. I did that last night at the last minute. I didn't know that was in here, so I thought - - When I put that number in there, I thought their total cost, not including the redesign of the interchange, was six ninety-five. I knew we had to get below that, at least to six fifty.

CHAIRMAN GRUENLOH: All right. So the number we're going to have in the agenda item will be six ninety-five less one sixty-nine?

MR. MARKERT: Right.

CHAIRMAN GRUENLOH: Not to exceed that number?

MR. MARKERT: Yes, sir.

CHAIRMAN GRUENLOH: Okay. All right. commissioners, any other questions on that item?

MR. MARKERT: And, actually, we haven't found out yet the amount the State is going to bill us for redesigning the interchange, plus this total can't go over six fifty. So we're going to have to get it down so we don't go over our budgeted amount.

CHAIRMAN GRUENLOH: Okay.
