Baldwin County Commission Update
I was unable to attend the meeting but the consensus of opinion from those that did seems to be that they (the commissioners) listened to our case with sympathy.
Read all about it at the Press Register web site.
The map below shows the impact the new interchange and service road will have on our community;

The pink lines represent the new interchange, the yellow line is the Woodrow Lane/I-10 Service Road (the black mark is added by me to show approximately how much is already paved) and the feint green lines are the construction limits - allegedly this will include a 10 foot buffer of mature trees but for those of us with Holiday Inns in their back yard we know how well that promise turns out.
Now, more than ever, we need to step up our campaign of writing to elected officials to let them know how we feel about this; it is an election year for the County Commissioners and of course we have mid-term elections for our representatives in Washington so make sure you sign the petition and write to as many people as you can.
Most importantly, we need as many people as possible to attend the next Baldwin County meeting on Tuesday April 20th at 8.30am.

Hi Ian,
I still am perplexed about how the currently paved section of Woodrow Lane got paved without official notification from the City/County and what portion/amount of the funding came from what sources.
Mostly, I am perplexed as to how this golf course could have been approved as B-2 with apparently NO ONE knowing about it. (I was told that this zoning happened in 2002.) I purchased my home on the Magnolia course on D'Olive Ridge in July '07, and nothing was disclosed to me about it; I presume because none of the realtors, brokers, title company agent, mortgage companies, appraisers knew either. I NEVER would have bought on this street if I had known about the B-2 zoning (who would in their wildest imagination research the zoning of a golf course???!) I am sure you feel the same about your home on Green Ct. Could you shed some light on these questions? I am still in a state of shock and I have an offer on my home so I will have to disclose all of this---no deal fo me now, I'm sure.
Thanks
