Resolution 2010-37: Carried Unanimous
Over 300 people crammed into the Council Chambers of Daphne City Hall last night to witness the words we wanted to hear as all 7 councilors voted to withdraw the city's support for the proposed North I-10 Service Road.
As Councilwoman Cathy Barnette pointed out, this is more of a political statement than anything else as the ultimate decision on whether or not the road goes ahead lies with the Commissioners in Baldwin County but it does mean we can go to Bay Minette this morning with the taste of a recent victory in our mouths - plus the small matter of 299 signatures on a petition to request the Commissioners to cancel the project.
