How big is the playing field...?

So, back to Daphne City Hall for the next big play and once again the good citizens of TimberCreek got what they asked for.   The planning commission voted against the sub-division - hooray,  I am SO glad it is an election year!

Was it really only a month ago that we got the news that we were getting a Service Road in our back yard and that there was the potential for the Magnolia 9 to be turned into a commercial development?

At that point we received the football on our own goal line and it seemed like the entire opposition squad was bearing down on us with no defensive line in front to protect us.

At the City level we managed to get the ball to the 10-yard line by getting the Daphne Council to withdraw their support for the service road.  We then completed a hail-Mary play at County level and managed to get the ball another 50 yards down the field.  Last night a relatively safe hand off running play with the Daphne Planning Commission resulted in another first down  and suddenly we find ourselves 70 yards closer to overall victory - the only problem is nobody on our team knows how long the playing field is or how much time is left on the clock...

I will post a full review of last nights meeting later but for now I just wanted to let everyone know that we have another small victory to celebrate but rest assured that this story still has some twists and turns in store for us - we can not afford to relax just yet.

I also wanted to point out that this blog is all my own work (unless I give credit to other contributors).  It is my own opinion and interpretation of events and in no way reflects the opinions of others such as Tom O'Hara, the POA or anyone else that has spoken and acted for the cause.  That isn't to say I don't support them, I do whole heartedly, we are all working towards the same goal afterall but I did want to clarify that I don't know everything that happens and I see my role as getting as much information as possible into the public domain so that the residents of TimberCreek can stay well informed.

Everyone is welcome to leave comments on any of the blog entries.  I do not censor any posts unless they are obviously spam or contain obusive language.

Stay tuned for the full report on the Planning Commission meeting...
